Winter 2010 Newsletter: Leadership Luncheons
In January, the NAYP launched the Leadership Luncheon series, an extraordinary opportunity for NAYP members to have a personal interaction, over lunch, with an established business or community leader. The first Luncheon was held at Florence Savings Bank and featured John Heaps, President and CEO of the bank, and all 15 available seats filled quickly with NAYP members from a varied cross-section of industries, from banking, financial services, and attorneys, to video production, retail stores, and talk radio.
After hearing about President & CEO John Heaps’ personal and career background while enjoying lunch provided by Florence Savings Bank, attendees were able to ask more questions, discuss their own career and life experiences, and even ask for advice related to their own careers. The atmosphere was comfortable for all, and a relaxed, candid, and insightful discussion took place at FSB’s main office in Florence.
The second Leadership Luncheon in the series, schedule for late February, will be hosted by Cooley Dickinson Hospital’s President and CEO Craig Melin. Registration is not yet open, but keep an eye out for an email with event details and registration instructions coming soon! With only 15 seats and a great first event, interest will be high for what will certainly be another fascinating opportunity to have lunch and discussion with local business and community leaders.
