The next NAYP Party with a Purpose will be Charity Bowling Event to benefit Stavros on Sunday, January 30, 2010 from 12-2pm. Join us for an afternoon of family fun! Event Details: When: Sun, Jan 30, 2011 12-2pm Charity Fundraiser: $20 per participant if pre-registered, $25 at the door Includes unlimited bowling during event, shoe rental, pizza and soda. Teams of 4-6 players. Registrants can register as a team or can be placed on a team. The next NAYP Party with a Purpose will be at Bistro Les Gras on Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 5-8pm. Food will be provided along with a cash bar and it should be a great time all around! Bistro Les Gras offers the finest farm to table dining in the Pioneer Valley. Located minutes away from fertile farmland they work with an amazing group of farmers and ranchers to assure that you are eating the finest and freshest produce as well as the highest quality free-range meats. Founded by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912, Girl Scouts is dedicated to helping girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth. More than 50 million American women have enjoyed Girl Scouting during their lifetime – and that number continues to grow as Girl Scouts continues to inspire, challenge, and empower girls everywhere. Sincerely, Northampton Area Young Professionals Join the Northampton Area Young Professionals for our Dinner with a Purpose sit-down dinner and networking event on Wednesday, November 17th, 2010 at Venus and The Cellar Bar in Easthampton, MA. After a cocktail hour from 5:30-6:30, we will be seated for a 3-course prix fixe meal (vegetarian or meat option), with a variety of optional wine-pairings. The next NAYP Party with a Purpose will be at KW Home on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 5-8pm. Food and drinks will be provided, and it should be a great time all around! Keith Woodruff, the KW of KW Home has been in design for nearly two decades. He has worked on projects in New York, Boston, and many other locations throughout the northeast. Keith has a degree in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan and he worked for several years with the New York firm, Michael de Santis, Inc. While there he oversaw several projects that were featured in Architectural Digest. Later, he held the position of Designer on Staff locally at the Cedar Chest in Northampton before branching out and starting his own firm. Keith opened KW Home in 2001 with the idea of providing people with a complete design center located right in the heart of western Massachusetts. Today, KW Home is one of the only stores in the area that provides shoppers and clients alike with premium home furnishings and superior interior design services. In the years to come, KW Home looks forward to growing with the revitalized Easthampton area. The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length. Thanks to Relay participants, we are creating a world with more birthdays a world where cancer can’t claim another year of anyone’s life. Anyone can participate in Relay for Life. The next NAYP Party with a Purpose will be at the Hotel Northampton on Thursday, September 9, 2010 from 5-8pm for the NAYP’s Third Birthday Party! If the weather cooperates, we’ll be outside on the Patio, but fear not, the Coolidge Park Café will work perfectly in the event of precipitation. The Hotel Northampton will provide great appetizers and a cash bar. The history of the Hotel Northampton begins with Lewis Wiggins, an entrepreneur who had a great interest in preserving the Colonial Revival theme when constructing the Hotel Northampton in 1927. An integral element of Wiggins’ concept was to achieve museum status for the hotel’s furnishings, and to this end he acquired antiques both for the hotel and for his own collection. Many of these antiques still grace the hallways, restaurants, and lobby. The collection was added to daily, and by 1937 Wiggins employed a full-time antiquarian curator with a staff of up to 15. Two staff members were assigned only to mingle with the guests and discuss the hotel and its antiques. On October 28th, Best Buddies will host the 2010 Artistic Abilities Event and Silent Auction in Springfield, MA from 5-9pm, and would be thrilled to have you in attendance.
