<p>The next NAYP Party with a Purpose will be at Look Park, at the Willowbrook Shelter on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 1-5pm. Bring your kids, dogs, and spouses to this family friendly event! The car entrance fee will be waived for attendees, and due to the costs for the event, member admission is $5, and $10 for non-members. Kids over 10 pay $2, and kids under 10 get in free.</p>

<p>Look Park, consisting of over one hundred &amp; fifty acres, is a gift to the City of Northampton from Mrs. Fannie Burr Look. She provided the land, funds for its development and a trust fund for its upkeep.</p>
<p>Additionally, operation and maintenance funds are dependent upon visitor fees, grants, and gifts. No funds are received from tax sources. The Park is a city-owned park and is administered as a non-profit organization by a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. Look Park is a place of both active and passive recreation including exciting seasonal attractions such as Bumper Boats, Pedal Boats, 18 holes of Mini-Golf, and a Steamer Train ride!  Along with the attractions, there are 4 playground areas, a water spray park, ball fields, and the Christenson Zoo.! <strong> NAYP July Leadership Luncheon!</strong></p>
<p>The NAYP Leadership Luncheon series is an opportunity for young professionals to have a personal interaction, over lunch, with an established business or community leader. The next Luncheon will be on Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 at 12pm.</p>
<p>Clare Higgins, Mayor of the City of Northampton, will host 15 NAYP members for lunch at Community Staffing headquarters in Northampton, MA starting at 12pm. Leadership Luncheons are interactive, not simply a lecture or speech by the host.<br />
Mary Clare Higgins was elected to her first term as Mayor of Northampton, Massachusetts in November 1999; she took office in January 2000. She was elected to a sixth two-year term in November 2009. She is a member of the Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition, an organization formed in 2006 and co-chaired by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston mayor Thomas Menino.</p>
<p>Before becoming mayor, Higgins worked in early childhood education, served as an at-large City Councilor, and was a Commissioner on the board of the Northampton Housing Authority.</p>
<p>Community Staffing, host of the event, will be providing food and drinks.</p>

<p>Mike Wall, President of Kollmorgen in Northampton, will host 15 NAYP members for lunch at Kollmorgen headquarters in Northampton, MA starting at 12pm. Leadership Luncheons are interactive, not simply a lecture or speech by the host.</p>
<p>Michael J. Wall was appointed President of Kollmorgen Electro-Optical headquartered in Northampton, Massachusetts and of Calzoni S.r.L. headquartered in Bologna, Italy in January 2005.  After working for 6 years at the Northwestern District Attorney&#8217;s Office, Mike began his career with Kollmorgen in 1980.  Mike is a native of Northampton and attended local public schools.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Westfield State College and his MBA from Western New England College.  He has served as a member of the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the United Way of Hampshire County Board of Directors, and a Trustee of Look Park.</p>
<p>Kollmorgen, host of the event, will be providing food and drinks.</p>

<p>Bistro Le Gras, host  of the event, will be providing food and drinks. This luncheon will be the fourth monthly event in the NAYP&#8217;s new Leadership Luncheon series.</p>

It feels hard to believe that we are going into our third year as an organization, but they do say &#8220;time flies when you&#8217;re having fun,&#8221; or when you&#8217;re really busy. And we&#8217;ve been both this year. <h3>Spotlight On: Leadership Luncheons</h3>
<p>In January, the NAYP launched the Leadership Luncheon series, an extraordinary opportunity for NAYP members to have a personal interaction, over lunch, with an established business or community leader. The first Luncheon was held at Florence Savings Bank and featured John Heaps, President and CEO of the bank, and all 15 available seats filled quickly with NAYP members from a varied cross-section of industries, from banking, financial services, and attorneys, to video production, retail stores, and talk radio.<br />

<h3>NAYP Charity Bowling Event &#8211; February 21st, 2010</h3>
<p>The NAYP&#8217;s monthly Party with a Purpose event is taking on a very special flavor and direction in February, which will be a bowling fundraiser for Friends of Hampshire County Homeless Individuals, based in Northampton. Having golfed for charity in the past with exceptional turnout and results, Spare Time bowling alley in Northampton is the location for this great charity event.</p>
<p>The event will be on Sunday, February 21st, from 2-4pm, and will be followed by great networking time at the bowling alley bar from 4-5:30pm. <h3>For NAYP Members: Membership Directory Launched</h3>
<p>The NAYP has introduced a new feature on the website, the Membership Directory. The membership directory enables members to sign up or renew their memberships online, post their profiles and pictures, and edit their own details. <p>Your $20 advance ticket (sign up <a href="http://www.thenayp.com/bowling" target="_self">here</a>) includes a $10 tax-deductible charity donation, unlimited bowling for 2 hours, shoe rental, pizza and soda. Lanes can accommodate teams of up to 6 people. But you don’t need a team to attend this event, so let us know on the sign up page if you want to be matched with other bowlers!</p>
<p>You can also pay at the door on February 21<sup>st</sup>, and the charge is $25. The bowling will be followed by great networking time from 4-5:30pm at the bowling alley bar.</p>

<p>The new Leadership Luncheon series from the Northampton Area Young Professionals is an opportunity for young professionals to have a personal interaction, over lunch, with an established business or community leader. The first Luncheon will be on Wednesday, January 20th, 2010.</p>
<p>John Heaps, President and CEO of Florence Savings Bank, will host 15 NAYP members for lunch at the main office of Florence Savings Bank from 12:00pm-1:30pm. Leadership Luncheons will be interactive, not simply a lecture or speech by the host.</p>
<p>Space is limited, and the 15 spaces are only offered to current NAYP members. Florence Savings Bank, the host of the event, will be providing a catered lunch. This luncheon will be the first monthly event in the NAYP&#8217;s new Leadership Luncheon series.</p>
