July 11, 2010 @ Look Park
The next NAYP Party with a Purpose will be at Look Park, at the Willowbrook Shelter on Sunday, July 11, 2010 from 1-5pm. Bring your kids, dogs, and spouses to this family friendly event! The car entrance fee will be waived for attendees, and due to the costs for the event, member admission is $5, and $10 for non-members. Kids over 10 pay $2, and kids under 10 get in free.

Look Park, consisting of over one hundred & fifty acres, is a gift to the City of Northampton from Mrs. Fannie Burr Look. She provided the land, funds for its development and a trust fund for its upkeep.
Additionally, operation and maintenance funds are dependent upon visitor fees, grants, and gifts. No funds are received from tax sources. The Park is a city-owned park and is administered as a non-profit organization by a self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. Look Park is a place of both active and passive recreation including exciting seasonal attractions such as Bumper Boats, Pedal Boats, 18 holes of Mini-Golf, and a Steamer Train ride! Along with the attractions, there are 4 playground areas, a water spray park, ball fields, and the Christenson Zoo.! Look Park has over 100 picnic sites and 7 covered pavilions accommodating picnics or family events. For more information, check out the Look Park website.

NAYP July Leadership Luncheon!
The NAYP Leadership Luncheon series is an opportunity for young professionals to have a personal interaction, over lunch, with an established business or community leader. The next Luncheon will be on Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 at 12pm.
Clare Higgins, Mayor of the City of Northampton, will host 15 NAYP members for lunch at Community Staffing headquarters in Northampton, MA starting at 12pm. Leadership Luncheons are interactive, not simply a lecture or speech by the host.
Mary Clare Higgins was elected to her first term as Mayor of Northampton, Massachusetts in November 1999; she took office in January 2000. She was elected to a sixth two-year term in November 2009. She is a member of the Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition, an organization formed in 2006 and co-chaired by New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg and Boston mayor Thomas Menino.
Before becoming mayor, Higgins worked in early childhood education, served as an at-large City Councilor, and was a Commissioner on the board of the Northampton Housing Authority.
Community Staffing, host of the event, will be providing food and drinks.

The NAYP Leadership Luncheon series is an opportunity for young professionals to have a personal interaction, over lunch, with an established business or community leader. The next Luncheon will be on Tuesday, May 18th, 2010, at 12pm.
Mike Wall, President of Kollmorgen in Northampton, will host 15 NAYP members for lunch at Kollmorgen headquarters in Northampton, MA starting at 12pm. Leadership Luncheons are interactive, not simply a lecture or speech by the host.
Michael J. Wall was appointed President of Kollmorgen Electro-Optical headquartered in Northampton, Massachusetts and of Calzoni S.r.L. headquartered in Bologna, Italy in January 2005. After working for 6 years at the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, Mike began his career with Kollmorgen in 1980. Mike is a native of Northampton and attended local public schools. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Westfield State College and his MBA from Western New England College. He has served as a member of the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the United Way of Hampshire County Board of Directors, and a Trustee of Look Park.
Kollmorgen, host of the event, will be providing food and drinks.

NAYP April Leadership Luncheon!
The NAYP Leadership Luncheon series is an opportunity for young professionals to have a personal interaction, over lunch, with an established business or community leader. The next Luncheon will be on Friday, April 16th, 2010, at 12pm.
Judith Fine, owner of Gazebo in Northampton, will host 15 NAYP members for lunch at Bistro Le Gras in Northampton, MA starting at 12pm. Leadership Luncheons are interactive, not simply a lecture or speech by the host.
In addition to running Gazebo, Judith’s community involvement is something to aspire to, including a number of different organizations. Judith served on the Northampton City Council, on the original committee that created the Taste of Northampton, as a board member and president of the Chamber of Commerce, and more.
Bistro Le Gras, host of the event, will be providing food and drinks. This luncheon will be the fourth monthly event in the NAYP’s new Leadership Luncheon series.
